Membership

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) promotes equity for women, education and self development over the lifespan and positive societal changes.

With National headquarters in Washington, DC, members and supporters number more than 165,000 in the United States.

The American Association of University Women — Las Vegas Branch was founded in 1955. Out of the 28 branches established in New Mexico since 1923, the Las Vegas Branch, along with ten others, has operated continuously. It was incorporated in 2005.

Who May Join? AAUW is open to all graduates from accredited institutions.  A new Association policy now enables us to invite into membership graduates with an AA degree or its equivalent.

Diversity: AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There are no barriers to full participation in our organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability and/or class.

Student Affiliates: Student affiliate membership is open to anyone who does not already hold an undergraduate degree and is enrolled in a two-or four-year regionally accredited educational institution. NMHU students receive free e-student affiliate memberships.
